Fluidised Bed Power Plant
Managed a team on a high-level feasibility design of a fluidised-bed combustion reactor for low-grade lignite. Performed exergy analyses over the system and the combustion chamber to size coal particles, specify air flow rates, and determine SOx/NOx production rates.
Robotic Prosthetic Leg
Team design of a non-invasive robotic prosthetic lower leg, including a high-level sensing system using myoelectric sensors on the upper leg to determine the user's intended movements.
Insolation Reduction + Solar Power Supplementation for Buildings
Managed a team proposing a lightweight, ground- and building-supported shielding structure holding PV panels to reduce insolation through windows and walls while supplementing HVAC power. Designed the support frame and ran thermodynamic analyses of solar irradiation effects.
Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital
Managed a team of 5 volunteers to renovate and create a safe, comfortable, relaxing space for nurses in high-stress positions — intricate planning, material sourcing and resource management to overhaul parts of the ward within 7 months on a very tight budget.
Social Outreach
Organised fundraising events (races, balls/dances, clothing drives, raffles) for charity work, including sponsoring food for an orphanage and supporting the Women Against Rape campaign.
